EB Medicine Expands Free Access to Evidence-Based
Emergency Medicine Education for Students and Faculty at
Mbarara University of Science and Technology in Uganda

Expanded access supports the university’s commitment to
advancing high-quality emergency care across Uganda

ATLANTA — July 27, 2026 — EB Medicine has expanded complimentary access to its evidence-based emergency and urgent care publications for students and faculty at Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST) in Uganda. The expanded access removes subscription barriers, allowing every student and faculty member to use these resources for learning, teaching, research, and point-of-care clinical decision-making.

Students and faculty will receive access to Emergency Medicine Practice, Pediatric Emergency Medicine Practice, and Evidence-Based Urgent Care. Together, the peer-reviewed publications provide comprehensive reviews of clinical conditions, practical recommendations, diagnostic and treatment pathways, and continuing education developed for clinicians working in emergency and urgent care settings.

MUST’s Department of Emergency Medicine was established in response to Uganda’s need for clinicians with specialized emergency care training. Its educational programs focus on the urgent diagnosis and treatment of illness and injury, with the broader goal of strengthening emergency care capacity throughout the country.

The Department of Emergency Medicine at MUST first partnered with EB Medicine in 2022 through a one-year institutional subscription that provided registered faculty and students with access to selected print publications and evidence-based educational resources. Building on the success of that initial collaboration, the partnership has now expanded to provide comprehensive digital access for all emergency medicine students and faculty, strengthening evidence-based learning, clinical decision-making, teaching, and research.

“EB Medicine’s publications have become a vital part of our clinical and academic work,” said Jacob Busingye, MD, Lecturer in the Department of Emergency Medicine at Mbarara University of Science and Technology. “Expanding access will give more of our students and faculty the opportunity to learn from current, evidence-based guidance and apply that knowledge in their education, teaching, and clinical practice.”

The initiative reflects EB Medicine’s commitment to supporting clinicians and educators who are advancing high-quality emergency care worldwide. At MUST, that work includes preparing physicians and other healthcare professionals to manage urgent and life-threatening conditions and helping strengthen emergency medicine education across Uganda.
