Press Release
EB Medicine Joins Thousands of Volunteers
for EM Day of Service
September 19, 2018 – Norcross, GA – EB Medicine is pleased to announce that on September 18, 2018 volunteers will come together at the Sickle Cell Foundation to help support sickle cell patients and their families. This event is part of a larger global philanthropic effort, the EM Day of Service, a campaign driven by the emergency medicine (EM) specialty. The EM Day of Service provides an opportunity for emergency physicians, residents, nurses, physician assistants, paramedics, medical students, and others to give back to the communities they serve.
Emergency care providers from across the globe will identify a community need and take action. Emergency medicine providers will strengthen their community through efforts such as hosting food drives, helping with home repairs for the elderly or disabled, providing health screenings, cleaning up trash along highways or parks, preparing meals at a local shelter or visiting and interacting with patients at nearby nursing homes.
EB Medicine’s team is excited to participate in this event!
“EB Medicine is delighted to partner with emergency medicine colleagues globally to make a difference in our community,” says Stephanie Williford, CEO. Williford reports, “many communities have unmet needs, so seeing the EM Day of Service in action allows us to serve our community in additional ways.” The EM Day of Service is defined by the motto: Need. Volunteer. Community. Teamwork. Celebrate. Emergency Medicine.
