EvidenceCare Launches Partnership with EB Medicine at ACEP to Bring Robust Clinical Decision Support to the Bedside

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – April 10, 2018 – NASHVILLE, Tenn. –  EvidenceCare, a Nashville-based clinical decision support (CDS) tool for ealthcare providers, announces a development partnership with Atlanta-based EB Medicine, one of the industry’s most respected publishers of peer-reviewed clinical content. The partnership allows EvidenceCare to reference EB Medicine’s esteemed content as it delivers patient-specific clinical decision support at the point-of-care, beginning with 18 of the most frequent, complex, and costly protocols faced by Emergency Room physicians. The collaborative solution will be introduced at the American College of Emergency Physician (ACEP) annual conference in October 2017 in Washington, DC.

“As an Emergency Room physician, I have relied upon EB Medicine’s content throughout my career,” noted EvidenceCare founder and CEO, Dr. Brian Fengler. “Their expert editorial content is among the most respected in the industry. We are thrilled that they have chosen to partner with us.”

EvidenceCare was conceived in 2014 to solve a fundamental need for healthcare providers to find and quickly digest the latest treatment guidelines. In 2016, the company launched its technology platform and currently has a variety of protocols for Emergency Medicine, Antibiotic Stewardship, and Gastroenterology. In addition, they are developing protocols in Pain Management, Orthopedics, Urgent Care, and for Hospital-Acquired Conditions. The emergency medicine protocols include conditions such as Sepsis, Pulmonary Embolism, Low-Risk Chest Pain, Concussions, and more, with content accredited by the American College of Emergency Physicians for CME credit. In addition, the platform integrates a patient education tool that enhances the dialogue providers have with their patients and a feature that accelerates documentation into any EHR.

The tool’s integration with EB Medicine’s content is seamless to the provider, giving healthcare clinicians access to important diagnostic and therapeutic recommendations in multiple ways. In addition to delivering the content at the bedside, in a manner that is specific to the patient, users can link out to subscribe or to log into EB Medicine’s full publications and resources.

“We align with the best physician editors to provide information and insights that make an immediate impact on the way our readers practice medicine, with the goals of improving patient outcomes, enhancing efficiency, and elevating the quality of care,” stated EB Medicine CEO, Stephanie Williford. “Being able to deliver that content as a part of a provider’s workflow only enhances both their experience and the patient’s.”

EB Medicine’s editorial board members, authors, and peer reviewers are front-line physicians facing the challenges of the medical community every day. The company delivers evidence-based content on hundreds of issues facing clinicians in emergency departments via monthly journals, including Emergency Medicine Practice and Pediatric Emergency Medicine Practice, delivered in print, digital, and mobile formats, as well as in-depth and digest editions. In addition, they offer annual publications, including Pediatric Emergency Trauma Care, Emergency Trauma Care, and Emergency Stroke Care. EB Medicine also helps provide the credits physicians need to keep up with CME requirements. Lastly, they offer EMplify, a podcast for emergency clinicians, which is available for free on iTunes and Google Play.

EvidenceCare’s decision support tool accelerates provider workflow and enhances the patient-provider relationship by delivering the latest medical content in a manner that is quickly and easily consumable by clinicians at the bedside. The company works with industry-leading experts and medical societies to create content in some of the most complex and costly conditions in healthcare.
