EB Medicine Introduces Points & Pearls Monthly Digest

New quick-read Emergency Medicine Practice supplement extends the value of evidence-based information while satisfying an emergency physician’s need for speed.

July 22nd, 2016 – Norcross, GA – EB Medicine has developed a new monthly digest to supplement and enhance the value of its subscription service. Starting in late July, Emergency Medicine Practice (EMP) subscribers will receive Points & Pearls, a quick-read summary of key points and clinical pearls published in the journal’s full-length editions. Points & Pearls will be a free value-added benefit for all subscribers.

“The doctors who read our journal have constant demands on their time, and their schedules are largely unpredictable,” says Andy Jagoda, MD, FACEP, Medical Director, Mount Sinai Hospital, New York, NY and EB Medicine’s Editor-in-Chief. “Now, they can choose whichever version of EMP they need at any given time, the Points & Pearls overview highlighting the essence of the content, or the comprehensive, in-depth coverage found in our full issues.”

Points & Pearls will complement and reinforce EMP, which gives emergency physicians practical training and a source of up-to-date, evidence-based CME. Points & Pearls will be accessible online, at any time, for a subscriber’s convenience. Like EMP, the new supplement will be written by physicians, peer reviewed, and grounded in the latest research.

The first issue of Points & Pearls will address “Cervical Artery Dissection: Early Recognition And Stroke Prevention,” a common cause of stroke in children, young adults, and trauma patients. A missed diagnosis can have devastating neurological effects, so emergency clinicians must act quickly to recognize and begin treatment of cervical artery dissections as soon as possible.

Following on the successful offering of Points & Pearls to EMP subscribers, EB Medicine plans to launch a similar digest version of its Pediatric Emergency Medicine Practice (PEMP) journal this fall.
