Dr. Sylvia E. Garcia, MD

Dr. Garcia graduated from the Morehouse School of Medicine in 1992 and completed a residency in Pediatrics at the Hughes Spaulding Children's Hospital and the Henrietta Egleston Hospital for Children at Emory University in 1995. After working in Urgent Care for Emory University Affiliated Hospitals, she completed a fellowship in Pediatric Emergency Medicine at the Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh in 2000, where she worked as an Assistant Professor prior to returning to New York and joining the faculty of the Mount Sinai Medical Center in 2007. She is currently an Assistant Professor in Pediatric Emergency Medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and the Assistant Residency Director for the Emergency Medicine residency, division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine. She is also the Director of PALS Education and is involved in outreach education for traumatic brain injury in pediatrics. She has been published in Pediatric Emergency Medicine Practice and is an editor in the Visual Diagnosis section.
