Michael Gerardi, MD, FAAP, FACEP
Michael Gerardi, MD, FAAP, FACEP, Director, Pediatric Emergency Services, has been practicing Emergency Medicine and Pediatric Emergency Medicine for more than 15 years. He is board certified in Pediatric Emergency Medicine, Pediatrics, Emergency Medicine, and Internal Medicine. As Director of Pediatric Emergency Services for Atlantic Children's Medical Center, Dr. Gerardi treats all types of acute pediatric illnesses and injuries. Dr. Gerardi received his medical degree from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. and completed residencies in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at Emory University Affiliated Hospitals in Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. Gerardi worked as a physician for the United States Air Force for 4 years where he was the attending and faculty physician for the Department of Emergency Medicine at Wilford Hall USAL Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas. Dr. Gerardi is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Medicine and Dentistry - New Jersey Medical School in Newark. He is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, American College of Emergency Physicians, American College of Physicians, Society for Emergency Medicine, and the American Medical Association. He currently serves as President of the New Jersey Chapter of the American College of Emergency Physicians and has recently been appointed to newly elected Governor Jim McGreevey's Task Force on Bioterrorism. Dr. Michael Gerardi is the President of Superior Insurance Co., RRG and Vice President of Skyview Loss Prevention Services, LLC (Skyview). He is on the Board of Directors of the Emergency Medicine Patient Safety Foundation and the immediate Past Chairman of the Board of the South Carolina Captive Insurance Association. Dr. Gerardi is a recent past chair of the American College of Emergency Physicians’ (ACEP) Pediatric Emergency Medicine Committee, is a current member of the ACEP Medical Legal Committee, and is the past President of the New Jersey Chapter of ACEP. He serves as ACEP’s liaison to the Pediatric Subcommittee of the American Heart Association’s Emergency Cardiovascular Care Committee and also serves on the AAP/ACEP’s Advanced Pediatric Life Support Course Task Force. He frequently lectures throughout the country on emergency medicine and risk management topics. He is a regional Vice President for a physician-owned regional emergency medicine group and is the Director of Pediatric Emergency Medicine for Atlantic Health at the Goryeb Children’s Hospital. He continues to practice adult and pediatric emergency medicine at Morristown Memorial Hospital and Goryeb Children’s Hospital in Morristown, New Jersey.
