Hugo Peralta, MD

Hugo Peralta, MD Dr. Peralta, MD is Chair of Emergency Services at the Italian Hospital in Buenos Aires, Argentina. In 2001, he left his career as an intensivist to work in the ED and develop emergency medicine in the Hospital Italiano, where he has acted as Medical Director of both the Critical Care and Ultrasound in Emergency courses. He is a past president of the Sociedad Argentina de Emergencias (SAE), Medical Director of the SAE Shock Program, and Editor-in-Chief of the Revista SAE, the Spanish-language emergency medical journal of the SAE and the only one of its kind in Argentina. In addition, he helped to organize the First Inter-American Congress in Emergency Medicine in Buenos Aires, cosponsored by the American College of Emergency Medicine (ACEP) and the American Academy of Emergency Medicine (AAEM). Dr. Peralta is also Professor of Medicine at the University of the Savior in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
