All pediatric patients with suspected AHO should be admitted to an inpatient ward or pediatric intensive care unit, as appropriate, for intravenous antibiotic therapy and monitoring. Antibiotics will likely be switched from intravenous to oral after several days of clinical improvement and decreasing inflammatory markers.
