Very little in medical education prepares us for the challenges of practice in the 21st century, so it is no surprise that radical changes in medicine should result in stress and burnout. Burnout among medical providers is widespread, and threatens physicians and patients alike. Burnout can be prevented, treated, and even reversed with mindfulness training. Through mindfulness practice, physicians may become happier and perform better.
